Besides a wide variety of restarants, bars & lounges, Lilongwe has the following to offer for day entertainement;
- Only 3km from Madidi is the Lilongwe Golf Club that offers a variety of sports like squash, tennis, swimming and of course Golf. There are golf clubs for hire at the club and there is a ProShop as well.
- The Lilongwe Wildlife Centre is a rescue and rehabilitation center that offers guided nature walks.
- 4 Times a week there are yoga classes held at Madidi.
- Within a 1,5 hour drive from Lilongwe you find Lake Malawi, where a day van be spend relaxing on the beach. Dedza Mountains are a 1,5 hour drive from Lilongwe as well and offer beautiful views and challenging mountain hikes, rewarded by the famous cheese cake and a shopping opportunity at Dedza Pottery afterwards.
Malawi is a beautiful less travelled destination with exquisite views, cultural experiences and nature. Malawi can be a challenge to travel yourself due to lack of road signs, street names and directions.

KAWANDAMA HILLS & VIPHYA Northern Malawi
The self catering cabin on the plantation overlooks the rolling hills, that welcome you to hike, bike, meditate and birdwatch or to go for sundowners on one of the viewpoints overlooking the estate. Those interested can arrange a tour on the factory site, which is surrounded by the beautiful aromas of the essential oils.
The cabin sleeps 6 guests (3 bedrooms) and has an open living room/kitchen plan and a spacious verandah. The romantic fireplace keeps you warm in the evenings, as even in the Malawian summer, it can get cold up in the hills. The chef will look after you and prepare the meals according to your wishes. The cabin is powered with gas and solar.
RED ZEBRA LODGE & TOURS Senga Bay, Lake Malawi, Central Region]
The sunshades and beach beds offer a beautiful view for long relaxing afternoons. During a short tour on the fish farm you can see ornamental fishes for export purposes. Sundowner cruises and Day cruises are available to the neighboring Islands and Cape Maclear.
The 32 footer boat can sit up to 20 people comfortably and comes equipped with lifejackets, marine toilet and GPS. Drinks, snacks and meals are provided for on the cruises.
ZOMBA FOREST LODGE, Zomba, Southern Malawi
The cottage itself has 4 rooms, all en-suite, a stunning living/dining room with a great big fire place for cosy fires in the winter and some of Tom's artwork on the walls. Zomba Forest Lodge is also about enjoying great food. There are plenty of hiking trails around the plateau including to the 'bottomless' Chingwe's Hole, to Mulunguzi Dam, William’s Falls, Ku Chawe for a spot of tea and many others. And horseriding can be arranged at the Plateau Stables. Zomba town is also well worth a visit and being the old colonial capital of Malawi, it is home to some of the country’s oldest buildings.
MAKUZI BEACH LODGE Northern Lake Malawi
Meals can be eaten in the restaurant with a spectacular view across the bay or privately on the beach or outside your chalet. The lodge has several activities to offer our guests, from lazing on the beach and snorkeling in the clear clean waters of the lake to see the cichlid fish which are native to Malawi, or kayaking on the lake to our small island 1 km off shore. Fishing is also available, both spinning and fly-fishing.
Off site we offer Scuba Diving with a reputable PADI Diving school and also Horse Riding in the forest and on the beach for a swim with the horses.
NAMIZIMU FOREST LODGE Namizimu, Southern Malawi
Namizimu Forest Retreat is a small and exclusive, residents-only, ecologically conscious lodge. Namizimu offers a full-board package, with accommodation options of en-suite rooms, a forest cabin, or - for special occasions only - camping. All the rooms are en-suite, with hot solar-heated showers and/or baths. Each room is provided with a private veranda, candles, solar lighting and mosquito protection.
The forest cabin is a true hideaway. It was created for those visitors who are looking for a high level of outdoor privacy. The cabin sits on the edge of a small clearing in the forest, a few minutes walk from the rest of the retreat buildings. There is a range of excursions from guided wildlife safaris to multi-day mountain hikes and village tours available.
